New AVIO Projector With Built-In Camera Achieves $3,495 Price Point November 13, 2009 (San Diego, CA) – Alliance International has begun shipping the AVIO iP-01UE projector with a built-in document camera that breaks through the price floor for AVIO products. Until now, AVIO projectors, uniquely styled with a high-resolution camera built inside, have cost between $5,000 - $10,000. The iP-01UE is a cost-reduced model with an estimated street price of only $3,500. Cost reductions have been achieved by replacing the high resolution CCD camera with lower cost CMOS technology and by removing specialized, interactive software (called iP Viewer) that continues to ship with AVIO's higher priced projectors. A significant improvement to the iP-01U is a new, wide-angle lens that allows an instructor or presenter to use the projector at the front of a room and to fill the projection screen with an image. (A 60" screen is filled from 4' distance.)
